Hi all,

We're aware of a peculiar forum glitch that's causing some subforums to be locked.

Due to the lateness at this time, it might be a while before the glitch can be remedied, because despite my best efforts and as far as I can tell, everything seems to be working fine admin-side. It may have …

Evelyn DeGray:
Name: Evelyn DeGray

Age: 17 {May 14th; Taurus}

Appearance: Evelyn is the twin on the right in the first image and the twin on the left in the second. She is approximately 5'4". Although her hair is shown in a braid, Evelyn typically wears her hair either naturally down or in a high ponytail, though she will braid it on occasion. These images are not my own.

[revival applications thread] Evergreen: Academy for Spies: Incalescent - Page 3 Degray10

Personality: Evelyn is a very bright and positive individual, always opting for optimism and hope over negativity. She’s bubbly, energetic, and passionate, her vigor spilling over into multiple areas of her life and defining who she is. She’s a bit of an airhead at times and doesn’t always think things through or rationalize her actions, but she means well and has a huge heart. She’s very compassionate and receptive of people’s emotions and needs, trying her best to help anyone she comes across. Evelyn is very social and outgoing, loving crowds and being around others. She is talkative and excitable, almost childlike in a sense. She sees every experience as a blessing and wants to enjoy life to the fullest, no matter what that may be. She recognizes that this is a dangerous field and that she needs to make the most of her life, choosing not to dwell on pessimistic thoughts or get hung up on the little things. It’s difficult to break her spirit, her passion and strong will overcoming even the darkest of situations. She’s determined to make a difference in the world, which is partially why she wanted to join Evergreen so badly.

Upon hearing the news of DeGray’s passing, Evelyn tried her best to remain upbeat and positive, not only for those around her but for herself as well. However, behind closed doors, she struggled deeply with grief and the grieving process. She fell into episodes of depression and struggled with remaining at the school where so much reminded her of what she had lost. If you asked anyone around her, they’d say she handled the passing very well and was able to move on quickly. Though they never understood or recognized the true struggles she was experiencing; she wouldn’t let them see her pain. She even tried to fool her sister, though she suspected Alexandria knew how she truly felt. Once she allowed her sister to help her through the process, Evelyn was able to effectively mourn the loss of their father and is now in a much more stable and positive mental state, comparable to her typical personality prior to his death.

Biography: Evelyn was born to Harrison and Penelope DeGray in Augusta, Maine as the younger of twins. DeGray, a prominent teaching figure within Evergreen and a notable member of the ESO, met Penelope when he was a young man. The two fell in love quickly and deeply, the kind of love that is reserved for fantasies and fairy tales. Although he had a duty to Evergreen and the ESO itself, Penelope understood and wanted him to succeed. She was strong of will and confident in herself and their relationship, enough to let him go. The two kept in contact constantly, through emails, calls, and flights when applicable. Eventually, they got married though the relationship itself changed little. Their complete and utter devotion to one another was admirable and inspiring, with Harrison longing to be reunited with his wife and Penelope living her own life while always thinking of him and waiting to see him again.

Eventually, having been devoting years at Evergreen as a teacher, Harrison DeGray decided it was time for him and his wife to start a family of their own. Thus, he took a leave of absence and left his teaching position in order to do just that. Penelope gave birth to twins, Alexandria and Evelyn, and DeGray remained at home with his wife and newborn children until they were the age of four. Although he wanted to stay longer, it was Penelope who convinced him to return to work. She assured him that she would have everything under control and that he had a duty to the public and the ESO that he had kept on the back burner for far too long. So DeGray flew back to England and resumed his duties there.

Back in Maine, Penelope truly had everything under control. A super mom so to speak, Penelope managed twin girls with ease and even found time for herself so as not to feel overwhelmed by the circumstances she was in. The burden was lessened considering DeGray’s job paid well enough for her to not be forced to find a job, though as the girls aged, she found that volunteering in the community was a better use of her time than working for profit and would do her best to find time to devote to various organizations or charities. No matter what, her children would always come first and she did her best to ensure they were cared for at all times.

Evelyn grew up as a very bright and cheerful child. As a baby, she was always smiling and social, wanting to see everyone and everything she could. She was very curious and wanted to experience as much as possible at all times. This continued through childhood, with her positivity only growing with age. Evelyn was a very polite and respectful child, beliefs instilled in her by her mother. For the most part, Evelyn lived a standard childhood. She attended conventional school with her sister and other children her age, she was a member of clubs and organizations, she was a cheerleader in high school, all normal aspects of life. Penelope made an effort to teach her daughters how to be strong and independent women, to think for themselves and to do what they wanted. She told them that they could do anything they set their mind to, and she believed it wholeheartedly. Evelyn drank these lessons up and wove them into the very fibers of her being, molding herself in the strong and independent image of her mother.

The one oddity in Evelyn and Alexandria’s lives is that they grew up being well aware of what their father did for a living and the nature of his work. Penelope always sought to be honest with her children, a feat DeGray agreed wholeheartedly with, and as such, she hid nothing from them in terms of his occupation. Evelyn missed her father dearly while he was away, though understood the importance of what he did, even from a young age, and did her best to never complain. DeGray would make regular visits home, usually around the holidays and their birthday, in order to see his daughters. Evelyn cherished these times spent with her father and would do everything in her power to enjoy them to the fullest, no matter what it was they did. DeGray would also make it a point to teach his daughters lessons he had learned when he was at home. This mainly came in the form of self defense lessons and teaching the girls how to survive with basic combat and weapon training if they ever needed it in their lives. Both parents felt these were important skills the girls learned. Evelyn, for the most part, enjoyed lessons with her father though admittedly it was more for the time spent with her dad above the actual content of the lesson itself. Both DeGray and Penelope also agreed that the twins should be under no pressure to follow DeGray to Evergreen; Evelyn and Alexandria’s parents made it very clear that they could go their own path and that they would be supported, no matter what. For most of Evelyn’s childhood, she had no interest in attending Evergreen, figuring spy school wasn’t where she was meant to be. She had innate ability due to her father, but she never truly sought to capitalize on this, deciding it would be best to live a “normal” life instead.

However, when Evelyn was 16, she and her sister received a letter from Evergreen asking them to attend. Evelyn was at a place where she was comfortable with her life, though it teetered on monotony on occasions, and was looking for universities to attend and careers to plan. This letter, being so unexpected, shook her a bit and made her rethink her position in life and where she wanted to go. She knew from her father that Evergreen students had the potential to do wonderful things in the world and help a lot of people that needed it. This appealed strongly to her as she originally planned to study education or mental health in an effort to assist people in her daily life. However, with the prospect of Evergreen suddenly available, she began to consider that as an opportunity. The factor holding her back was experience and technique, aspects she believed she didn’t possess in relation to the other students who would be attending. After discussing with her sister, the two reached the consensus that they could overcome these obstacles and that the benefits outweighed the risks. Thus, the two packed their belongings and enrolled in Evergreen where they currently reside and study.

During their first term, DeGray pulled them aside and told them he would be leaving. He couldn’t say much, but he told them it was a routine mission and he would be back shortly. The school released a statement shortly after providing details regarding military service. In September of that same year, it was announced to them and the rest of the school that DeGray had died in combat. The school held a memorial in honor of him and the girls were reached out to for counseling, though they refused. The shock and devastation of his passing was too much to process and each sister had their own way of handling the grief. Eventually, they were able to mourn and come to terms with his death and before moving past it and continuing their studies.

Family: Harrison DeGray (father, deceased), Penelope DeGray (mother), Alexandria DeGray (twin sister)

Strengths: Evelyn views her positivity and outlook on life to be one of her greatest strengths. She feels that her ability to put a bright spin on a stormy situation is an asset and can be beneficial in boosting team morale or rallying a group. Her social nature and comforting presence allows others to feel comfortable with her, making her trustworthy and a great member of a team. Evelyn follows orders well and is capable of making decisions on her own, a factor instilled in her by her strong mother. Evelyn is athletic, focusing on speed and agility. In terms of combat, she has experience in martial arts (focusing mostly on self defense), though feels more comfortable with daggers.

Weaknesses: Evelyn can be a bit airheaded at times and is, to an extent, easily distracted. She is not the most strategic in terms of her mindset and typically leaves planning to others. Her optimism and thought that everyone has good in them has the potential to be exploited, though Evelyn is not necessarily easily manipulated. Evelyn has a strong sense of family and protecting her loved ones, which again is able to be exploited. Evelyn is not physically strong and will not do well in a prolonged hand-to-hand battle. Evelyn also has a fear of enclosed spaces, though she has tried to overcome this throughout her training at Evergreen.

Codename: Legacy

~Evelyn is the younger than Alexandria by 1 minute and 39 seconds.
~Evelyn speaks only English fluently. She has learned bits and pieces of other languages from her father and can hold a basic conversation in French, Russian, and German though she rarely tries. Her understanding of the language is typically better than her speaking and pronunciation of it.
~Both Evelyn and Alexandria's codenames are relating to their ties to DeGray and hold special meaning to them now that he has passed. They take great pride in bearing his lineage.

Post by Lady Senbonzakura Sat Jun 23, 2018 10:38 pm

Because is it really a RP without at least two sets of twins?:
Name: Alexandria DeGray
Age: 17 (May 14th)
Appearance: [revival applications thread] Evergreen: Academy for Spies: Incalescent - Page 3 HJm9KoS[revival applications thread] Evergreen: Academy for Spies: Incalescent - Page 3 4YJ8YW0
Images of Yuzuru and Kaguya Yamai from Date A Live. I own neither the images nor the characters.
Personality: Much like her sister, Alexandria aims to be a positive force, be it in her actions, her words, and (usually) her thoughts. Having a father who risked his life as a spy, she understands the risks and tries not to take any good minute for granted. Though just as enthusiastic and troublemaking as Evelyn, she does know where to draw the line, usually when it starts to seriously affect others in a negative way. In September 2020, her father was declared dead, Alexandria fell into severe heartbreak and depression, and did not do any good at hiding it. If she didn’t have Evelyn, and in some ways, Evergreen, she wouldn’t have processed as near as quickly as she has and still continues to do. Back at school, her mission is to continue on her father’s work, not only in her spy work, but being family to her sister.

Biography: So uh what Ronan said in Evelyn’s form because he’s infinitely more poetic and detailed than I am.
Family: Harrison DeGray (father, deceased), Penelope DeGray (mother), Evelyn DeGray (twin sister)

-her positive attitude and perseverance allows her to keep going at whatever her task is
-healthy and more athletic, as she’s spent a decent amount of her life on a sports team
-knows some basic defense and martial arts from her father
-has prior knowledge with firearms, also from her father
-is pretty good at seeing through lies or manipulations

-her aim isn’t fantastic
-she’s not physically strong, and probably wouldn’t do too well in a fist fight
-her tendency to give the benefit of the doubt can be used against her
-when it comes to her family, her temper is basically nonexistent
-though she has a strong motivation, she may become hyperfocused on it, and thus will let anything fall to the wayside
Codename: Heirloom

-Alexandria is older than Evelyn by one minute and thirty nine seconds.
-The only language she knows fully is English, but remembers a lot of Spanish from school, and can recall basic conversational phrases in French, Russian, and German.

Name (please include first & last): Alexis Demetriou

Age (13 – 18): 18 (born August 13)

Appearance: [revival applications thread] Evergreen: Academy for Spies: Incalescent - Page 3 Tumblr_mrujt1ZEht1swwx3co6_250

Personality: Alexis is a bit of a player. His biggest strength is his charisma, and he's not hesitant to use it when it becomes necessary. Alexis believes being outwardly cold is a great weakness, and seeks to include himself in social circles whenever possible. Mingling is an art form in his eyes, and he's considerably good at it.

Biography: Born in Athens, Greece, to a very wealthy family, Alexis Demetriou grew up in quite a well-to-do environment. His father was not affected by the Greek financial crisis that began in 2009, which caused some ire and suspicion among his would-be colleagues. Despite this, Alexis learned to follow in the footsteps of his father, Basil, and learned the secrets of diplomacy and general inter- and intra-political/financial mingling, landing him some prominent positions and roles around Greece and the greater Balkan area.

Family: Basil Demetriou (father)
Natasa Demetriou (mother)

Strengths: Alexis is fairly adept at getting people on his good side. Even if he can't be "friends" with someone, he strives to make as few enemies as possible. He's also not afraid to get his hands dirty - subterfuge is another specialty of his, one which he almost values as much as camaraderie.

Weaknesses: Alexis has a hard time making, should we say, meaningful relationships. He sees people as valuable, but also as potentially expendable. As a result he doesn't really know what a true connection to someone is like - well, actually, he does, but he would prefer to avoid that. "Interference," he calls it. Some might call it something else - something more than "interference..."

Codename: Cadmus

Other Information (optional): Speaks Greek, Russian, Spanish, and loose English

Name (please include first & last): Brett du Asile

Age (13 – 18): 22

Appearance: [revival applications thread] Evergreen: Academy for Spies: Incalescent - Page 3 Tumblr_o4t7alLY701swwx3co5_250

Personality: Brett has a heart of ice. He barely feels emotion - his father isn't even sure he knows what an emotion is. Brett has found a nice replacement for this total lack of human nature, though - a deep and complex desire for knowledge and, more importantly, outwitting any enemies that stand in his way.

Biography: Brett du Asile hails from Toronto, Canada, and is the only son of Troy du Asile as well as the older brother of Malina. From the moment of his birth, Brett had constantly been "tested" by his father to see if he was an eligible candidate for training within the SRSIA's rankings. At the age of five, Brett was admitted into heavily-focused classes that tested and expanded his mental and physical prowess, at the expense of his emotional stability.

As his sister Malina did not "make the cut," so to speak, Brett and his father vowed to each other not to let Malina in on their identities, which proved to be effective. At least until Malina's graduation, upon which Brett promptly went dark, cutting off any contact between himself and his sister, thanks to a series of upcoming missions that he could not afford to ruin...

Family: Troy du Asile (father)
Rhianna du Asile (mother)
Malina du Asile (sister)

Strengths: It is very easy for Brett to cut his losses, and he knows when to do so at the appropriate time. He moves and acts almost like a machine - methodical, analytical, and practical. He learns only what he needs to, not allowing for frivolous details to occupy his time. In addition, his training within the SRSIA grants him exceptional physical prowess, proving him to be a formidable foe in close combat.

Weaknesses: Despite his apparently cold indifference to his sibling, the lack of communication between him and the only person he really felt a connection to has somewhat affected Brett, such that while he may not actively seek a way to recruit Malina, if the opportunity arises to bring her over to his side or even ensure her safety (even at the cost of a mission), he might do so without a second though. In addition, his generally steely resolve would obviously cause some difficulty in him, ahem, gaining "friends" among his peers.

Codename: Hyacinth (гиацинт)

Other Information (optional): He's definitely not going to Evergreen. Brett is fluent in English, French, Russian, Korean, German, and Hausa.

Name: Juliette Montesquieu

Age (13 – 18): 18

Appearance: [revival applications thread] Evergreen: Academy for Spies: Incalescent - Page 3 SUgWW51
She stands at about 5'7 with a lithe frame; her hair is jet black and reaches the middle of her back, while her eyes are a stormy color that shifts between grey and purple.

Personality: Juliette can come off as somewhat of an ice princess when one first gets to know her, but she mainly uses this as a front to prevent herself from dealing with weak-minded people. She has an especial dislike for people who complain about issues that they’re not willing to fix. She is not quiet, but keeps to herself and doesn’t go out of her way to make friends. She rarely euphemizes her thoughts, either - unless it is in a situation that would benefit her, you can be pretty sure that she’s honest. Due to her family’s background in business, she generally knows how to make her way around a conversation and get what she wants.

Biography: Juliette was born as an illegitimate child to a prestigious company. Her father, married at the time, met her mother when she was a flight attendant; she was young and beautiful and he was rich and charming. What was meant to be merely a fling became a long-running affair, and Mia Blanche found herself pregnant with Juliette. Unable to abandon the baby, she gave birth to Juliette and the public believed that she was really the daughter of Brian’s wife, Victoria. Aside from her constant masquerade as the real Montesquieu daughter, she cares deeply for her mother. To keep the facade of a perfect marriage from failing, Mia rarely leaves the house; her emotional and mental state are quite unstable, causing Juliette to take care of her on the daily. Resultantly, Juliette knows how to care for herself without any assistance from others.
Juliette continuously pretended to be the daughter of her father and his actual wife; in reality, they were separated but stayed “together” as to not tarnish his company’s image. Her older half-brother was to be given the majority of her father’s shares when he was of age. Her share in the company was smaller in comparison, but this did not take away her opportunity to attend prestigious schools and thus receive an outstanding education. In these schools, she ascended the social hierarchy with a mixture of manipulation, prestige, and sheer intimidation. In spite of her father’s disdain towards her illegitimate existence, she felt the need to prove herself and worked incredibly hard in everything she did. She mainly kept her true thoughts to herself these years, deciding to train herself in mixed martial arts and other forms of combat as a distraction from her tense home life. She excelled in this; it allowed her to compete nationally and do quite well(under a pseudonym). Her talents, she soon realized, existed in agility, close combat, and stealth - talents that would be very helpful to a spy.
As she grew older, her reckless pursuit of worthiness led her to becoming an assassin. Juliette worked beneath the seedy underbelly of New York’s organized crime and business scene; this was where she learned of her worth. As it so happened, Juliette turned out to be exceptionally good at this job. Juliette’s loyalty existed only where it was advantageous to herself, thus allowing her to be a truly effective assassin. This morally grey area still exists within Juliette; despite what one might initially think, Juliette joined Evergreen more out of curiosity than a desire to protect the nation.

Family: Brian Montesquieu(father), Mia Blanche(mother, deceased), Edward Montesquieu(half brother)

Strengths: Juliette is extremely hardworking and will do whatever it takes for her to achieve her goals; as a result of never quite feeling good enough, she finds it necessary to compensate. She is also skilled in close-combat and stealth from her training in mixed martial arts and agility. Her nature is slightly manipulative, making it pretty easy for her to do whatever is needed in the situation, enough so that she wouldn’t have that hard of a time killing someone.

Weaknesses: If she isn’t interested in doing something or lacks motivation, she will put in minimal effort. She is also not much of a team player, but will cooperate if necessary. Though her lack of sympathy can be an asset, it can be a hindrance as she will often put herself in stupid amounts of danger for even a tiny chance of victory.

Codename: Nightshade

Other Information: As a result of her schooling, she can speak a variety of languages, including French, Mandarin, Korean, and English.

Name (please include first & last): William Jiang

Age (13 – 18): 18

Appearance: [revival applications thread] Evergreen: Academy for Spies: Incalescent - Page 3 Tumblr_m4qxpju4PQ1rrzovoo1_500

Personality: On the outside, William is the type of boy that gets along effortlessly with everyone. He seemingly has an easygoing and kind personality. Below this, though, he is incredibly cunning with every word calculated.

Biography: William was born to a very wealthy Chinese family - though they were not quite public figures like a politician, they held enough money and various corporations to have a large hand in the workings of the national economy. However, as a result of this, parenting came second to their work - subsequently, William was sent to private boarding school in the United States. He has no oppositions to this. As William grew older, he began to despise his parents and the many faces they wore. His reception to his boarding school wasn’t an easy one. As most people do, the other students there were not fond of William’s unfamiliarity and Chinese ancestry; this caused him to become alienated. However, he found that by eliminated any accents and adopting an easygoing, boy next door personality his peers grew to like him. Just as his parents did, he wore a mask for the approval of others.

Family: Wayne Jiang - Father
Tzu-Yu Jiang - Mother

Strengths: William is very good at talking to people and getting what he wants; in addition, he has high athletic abilities from his sports experience.

Weaknesses: Deep down, he’s incredibly insecure and craves genuine friendship.
