Hi all,

We're aware of a peculiar forum glitch that's causing some subforums to be locked.

Due to the lateness at this time, it might be a while before the glitch can be remedied, because despite my best efforts and as far as I can tell, everything seems to be working fine admin-side. It may have …

Name: Loki Agnar Svienson
Name Meaning: "Loki" means tricky and cunning, "Agnar" means victory or domination, and "Svienson" means son of the king.
Alias: Loki Happenson
Alias Meaning: "Happenson" sounds phonetically close to "happenstance."
Age: 21
DOB: something or other, 9974 (Or September 11th, 9974)

Trait: Hate
Secondary Traits: Logic, Psychopathy, Obsession, Cruelty
Tertiary Traits: Retribution, Sorrow, Faith, Envy, Greed
Quaternary Traits: Passion, Strength, Perpetuity, Compassion, Restraint
Quinary Traits: Yare, Imagination, Joy, Persistence, Narcissism
Powers: Loki can distort people's emotions, and he typically prefers to do it in neutral, sometimes even positive ways: a touch of giddiness or peace to neutralize caution and wariness; happiness and excitement to make his presence seem a blessing instead of deadly; uncertainty or confusion when they're trying to speak against him, etc., etc.  He finds that fear isn't as useful as other emotions he could arouse.

Appearance: A very lean man with narrow hips and a bony clavicle.  Long, knobby fingers, thin wrists, and arms and legs with low levels of fat.  He's not very strong, and that's visible.  Long, downturned nose, thin lips, a rounded chin, deep set eyes, tapering brows, complete heterochromia with one brown and one green eye.  His hair is wavy, a little longer than chin length and is longer at the front and shorter at his nape.  It's a mousy brown-blonde.  Pale skin.

Personality:
Invested in the pursuit of his own pleasure, he has a very selfish mindset that is dedicated to his well being only.  However, he remains somewhat whimsical and vulnerable, occasionally scoping out potential partners or flings to stave off loneliness and other emotional issues.  He's a paradoxical combination of bitter and free, cynical and idealistic.  More often than not, his actions speak to a different personality than one would think is his.

Personality Type: ISFP, in enneagram 7w8

Bio:
One of Aspernor's many poor, Loki quickly discovered that this system that Aspernor built itself on was not one he liked.  Oh, he kept his head down alright.  He did his work and sold whatever he could to get a taste of the more luxurious, more promising life he wanted, but it wasn't enough for this ragged, petty thief among many ragged, petty thieves.

He was bored, really.  More than anything he wanted to get out of his disgusting circumstances and up to better and better things.  He had already proved to himself that he would do almost anything to amuse himself; he'd perfected his control on his emotions and could push away and induce any feeling in himself that he so desired (it was easier than consistently reacting to a miserable environment.)  But soon even that grew boring.  Too boring for him to stand.

He hated his life, he hated his miserable family, hated his pathetic friends, hated Aspernor, hated how much it wouldn't give him.  It was only after a mental breakdown of his own induced panic and hysteria in other people nearby that he realized he'd learned to Hate.

Finally, a new game!  He tested daily, as often as he could before exhausting himself and needing to sleep and eat before having at it again.  He'd select targets he despised (by this point, everyone) then play and play with their emotions.  Fear, grief, pain, mind-numbing hysteria, giddy joy, frantic anxiety, on and on.  He had no discretion.  His parents, his siblings, his neighbors, his friends -- all were subject to his Hatred and his glee.

He was taken away to be tested, and after months of delicious torture, Loki was taken away to be schooled further, and later joined the Inquisition, and he's had a grand time searching for Trait Bearers and punishing deviants.  He has delighted in every second he's experienced using his Trait, and has no intentions of stopping.  Furthermore, now that he's moved up to being stationed in Mars, he hopes to have some more fun.  Hating people is only fun if it causes drama, after all.

Notable Relationships:
[Brigid, little sister] He accidentally drove her mad which was ... awkward, to say the least.  He does feel bad about it, but he killed her later to make up for his mistake, so he considers that blip made up for.

[Carl and other childhood friends] It was quite the turn, to torment not just his family and his neighbors but also his friends.  They were very terrified, and avoided him religiously but ... he found them later, of course.

[Siv, his mother]  Soon after his mother discovered what he'd done to Brigid, she tried to kill him.  It didn't work, however.  Her would-be fatal blow missed.  As for his mother, well ...

Weapon of Choice:  A small pistol that he keeps on him always, in case his Trait can't carry him through.

Strengths: Mentally and emotionally resilient to trauma and pain, has been teaching himself to experience only the thoughts and emotions that benefit him and to lose the ones that harm him.  He knows his mind well and can pick out deviant thoughts and reactions (if he can think about it in time.)  Also, a very potent Hate Bearer.

Weaknesses: Being caught in positions of vulnerability/weakness make him very uncomfortable and he usually panics a bit.  He's also solely driven by an interest in being entertained, so traditional ways of ambition don't necessarily ... apply.  His dedication to pleasure and entertainment also drives him to higher and higher "trophies", particularly circumstances and people of danger.  In order to use his Hate, he needs to be generally close to them to be able to do it.  He's also physically weak and not very hardy.  In a physical fight he'd be easily destroyed.

Fun Facts:
- His hate scores are: (Strength - 6) (Control - 7) (Precision - 9) (Reach - 3)
- He tends to grin or laugh just before he starts working at you so ... beware excessive smiling.
- He tried experimenting on animals but found it didn't really work, and wasn't nearly as enjoyable as watching other people squirm under it.
- He may very well have loved his mother, though obviously the relationship was complicated.  He frequently dreams of her and occasionally imagines her speaking to him, be it in mockery, tirade, or maternal advice and love.
- Classically of me, his aesthetic:

Let's balance Loki out, shall we?

Name: Emory Randall

Name Meaning: Emory means "industrious leader," and Randall usually means something among the lines of "shield" or "wolf."

Alias: Emory Atwater

Alias Meaning: Atwater basically means something like "from the water."

Age: 17

DOB: Cadere 1st, 9,977

Trait: Compassion

Secondary Traits: Imagination, Faith, Sorrow

Tertiary Traits: Joy, Strength, Greed, Logic

Quaternary Traits: Passion, Persistence, Restraint, Perpetuity, Yare

Quinary Traits: Envy, Hate, Cruelty, Narcissism, Obsession, Retribution

Powers: Healing l Compassion Bearers have the ability to heal the wounds of living beings. Compassion's powers are among the more spontaneous, the user often unaware that they are even using them as their natural kindness and empathy triggers the healing.

Appearance:

She's about 5'4", with a slight figure.

Personality: Emory's a bubbly and carefree girl that encourages everyone to remain optimistic. She's always willing to lend a helping hand and a listening ear, and is happy to act as a support to anyone else. She's a Compassion Bearer for a reason, after all.

But there's a lot more to her than that. Her cheerfulness may make her look like a ditz, but she is by no means a ditz. She's smart enough that she uses her cheerful nature to her advantage, and make people underestimate her when it counts. Just because she encourages people to remain optimistic doesn't mean that she herself is wholly optimistic. For a Compassion Bearer, she has a surprisingly selfish nature, built into her after years in Cruore.

Personality Type: Kinda going back and forth between ENFP and INFP.

Bio: Emory's a girl that's been transferred from one family to another, and not always for the better. A few people living in a small settlement in Cruore found the infant Emory on the ground, alone, and swaddled in blankets. Realizing no one was coming back for her, they took her to their settlement to be raised. She grew up there for the first few years of her life before that settlement was eventually found and attacked by soldiers, and Emory was forced on the run.

This eight year old had to learn to survive pretty quickly in order to remain alive. She met a few various runaways during her time alone, and even a few Trait Bearers. One of them taught her long-forgotten arts, like drawing and a bit of singing. But those alliances and friendships always ended badly, usually due to being found by soldiers, and it was only by putting her own survival before others and learning how to abandon her friends that Emory managed to continually get away. This repeated process caused her Compassion to flicker, and after six years of this, she wondered if she was truly deserving of the Compassion Trait.

That was, until she finally met two Trait Bearers. One was an older man with stern lines in his face, and a boy one year older than her, who was the first other Compassion Bearer she met since her village in Cruore was raided.

The Compassion Bearer introduced himself as simply, "Luke," and the older Strength Bearer as Quintus. She found a kindred spirit in Luke, and felt something of a connection toward Quintus, for reasons she couldn't initially explain. They taught her how to use the staff a bit, and in turn, Emory helped Luke advance his healing skills (as she was born with the Trait and was generally more practiced than he was). Deep inside, she was afraid that she would lose them, just like she did everyone else. But there also felt something different about them . . . or, at least, about Quintus.

Not everything was sunshine and rainbows, though. The trio met conflict. Throughout that conflict, Emory discovered the reason why she felt differently about Quintus. It was because he was her grandfather.

Emory was overjoyed to finally, finally reunite with biological family. According to Quintus, her mother, Lara Randall, had been quick to notice that her infants hands glowed whenever she smiled. Emory had been born with the Compassion Trait, and a particularly strong manifestation at that. Her father sacrificed himself to make her and her mother's escape to Cruore possible, and though the government couldn't find any evidence that gave away Quintus's involvement, they did still transfer his job to the Zeidan Mansion to keep a close eye on him.

What happened to her mother is still something that no one knows.

Quintus wasn't the only family she gained. When the three of them were in a dire situation, they were saved by the timely intervention of a Trait Bearer.

Once the conflict was over, the Trait Bearer, Kell Atwater, offered to take all of them someplace safe. Luke refused, because he strongly felt that he still needed to remain in Cruore. Because Luke refused, Quintus also had to refuse, since "someone has to make sure Luke doesn't kill himself with his own stupidity," as he said in his own words.

Emory . . . she was a different story.

Emory wasn't like Luke or Quintus. She didn't want to be involved in saving the world. She just wanted to have a normal life, a stable home. She'd been on the run for years, and the chance to leave it behind was exactly what Kell was offering. She knew she was thinking of herself again, abandoning her grandfather for her own self-preservation. Quintus told Emory not to blame herself, because her desire was human. It pained her, leaving her only biological family so soon after meeting him. But after a life on the run, she knew that going with Kell would be the best thing for her own emotional stability.

So with Kell she went. They smuggled themselves onto a ship, and after a bit of traveling, they arrived in Reiken. Emory quickly found a home with them, and she's been living happily with the Atwaters ever since.

Notable Relationships:

Quintus Randall (Grandfather): As her last remaining biological family, Emory loves Quintus deeply, and has never forgotten him. She looks forward to the day she can see him again.

Luke Zeidan (Friend): Emory and Luke had a lot in common, and were like birds of a feather. They got along pretty well during the time they were together. Emory might have had a slight attraction to Luke (it's a bit too soon to say for sure), but it's safe to say that Luke never felt anything toward her. Their relationship was pretty platonic.

Anna Jarvis and Kell Atwater (Adoptive Parents): Emory has a good relationship with her adoptive parents, and feels as close to them as she would any biological parent. She feels like she can trust them with anything, and loves them.

Cedric Jarvis (Adoptive Step-sibling): Cedric and Emory haven't met yet. But they will.

Weapon of Choice: A staff, due to Quintus and Luke's influence. She's good enough to take out some standard mooks, but she's not nearly on their or Finsa's level, and could afford a bit more training.

Strengths: She's actually fairly versatile with her strengths. She has an honest desire to help others, and is a good listener. Good survival skills. She's smarter than her bubbly personality lets on. She's gotten pretty good at drawing, and though she's not nearly as good at singing as she is at drawing, she can at least hold a tune, which is better than at least 90% of Anaphorans. Emory can hold her own with a staff fairly well.

Weaknesses: While she can hold her own with a staff fairly well, Emory needs to learn to hold her own with a staff really well. She has this weird thing where she can be too trusting, but at the same time, she doesn't expect any relationship she has to last too long, so she also finds herself waiting for the day things fall apart. She's not a particularly brave or strong person. And then there's her penchant for self-preservation, which runs far deeper than even she realizes.

Fun Facts:

-Her face claim is Leia Rolando from Tales of Xillia, which is the same game Luke's face claim is from.
-Her Hogwarts house is Ravenclaw.
-In keeping with tradition with most Anaphora females, Emory is probably not straight. It's too soon to say, but she's most likely pansexual.
-Some facts of what happened with Emory, Luke, and Quintus in Cruore are purposefully being withheld, because it has high potential to translate into a third sidestory.

Wow, this is going to be a fun character! Unfortunately, though, I'm going to have to veto her singing unless you can give me a pretty strong case for it. If it hasn't been made clear, music is long gone, to the point that almost nobody would so much as recognize the words associated with it. Holding a tune isn't possible to more like 99.9999% of the population and doing so would be looked at as so foreign as to be possibly mistaken for a Trait manifestation. Tess and the Church of Song are a major, major exception to the rule, and the story there goes back to the dawn of Aspernor. So, yea. If you have a really compelling reason for it, I might give it to you, but otherwise, it'll have to go. Other than that, she's an excellent character and I'm excited to see what she brings to the table!

Yeah, I'm cool with scrapping the singing -- I was honestly a little iffy on that one myself. =P What about the drawing, though? That one's more important to her character. I know it was mainly the singing you were vetoing, but I still want to be sure everything's okay.

Re: [OPEN RPG]-Applications Thread- Anaphora: Entropy

Post by Omni on Wed Jan 25, 2017 7:14 pm

If it helps, one thing I did leave on the table was the possibility that other cells of the CoS might exist/have existed, specifically because I didn't want to create a situation where nobody else can possibly use this worldbuilding element ever. The CoS was a reasonably large rebel network when it was founded, and while any other possible remaining pockets out there are definitely isolated and probably not much better off than the Poena cell that Tess was a part of. Because the organization fractured quite a while ago, it's also very possible that other surviving cells would have very different cultures and priorities than the Poena cell (which had gone kinda unusually militant there by the end) did. Some of them might not even remember music, and might have focused on preserving other art forms, like drawing, instead; I can especially see that being the case in Avaditas, since most images are actually illegal there.

So, yeah. They'd be very endangered and probably not as militarized as Tess's old cell, but if somebody wanted to bring another group of the CoS into the RP, I'm cool with it pending Athena's approval. That could potentially justify any artistic skills you deem vital to Emory's character, Writing. That invitation's open to anybody who feels like they need it, honestly, though I'd like to make clear that I don't think this is a character element that should be thrown in "just because." Being part of or taught by an underground rebel cell devoted to the preservation of art and culture is the sort of thing that should have a profound impact on a character's backstory and worldview, and shouldn't just be done because you want somebody to be able to sing. If you feel like it'd be the right character choice, though, by all means.

Drawing's perfectly fine, don't worry. I'm just a little pickier about who has music. Like Omni said, there could potentially be more branches of the CoS and other disciples still around. I just want there to be a very strong reason if a character has it.

so, i'm assuming lynn's brush with the periodic table of the elements song doesn't count?

ANYWAY

this is gonna be fun. right now i'm going to keep him at NPC status.

Caelum Desoll:
Name: Cælum Desoll-Devon

Age: 38
DOB: Nivalis 72

Trait: Compassion
Secondary Traits: Greed, Persistence, Restraint
Tertiary Traits: Hate, Cruelty, Joy
Quaternary Traits:
Quinary Traits:

Powers:
@Athena Lionheart wrote:Compassion is the Trait of Healing and Kindness. Compassion Bearers truly show us the best in humanity. Selfless and caring, Compassion Bearers unbiasedly try to ease the hurt of humanity, physically and emotionally. Compassion's powers are among the more spontaneous, the user often unaware that they are even using them as their natural kindness and empathy triggers the healing.

Appearance: Flynn Rider

Personality: To say that Caelum is the best of humanity is assuredly false. He has his Compassion still merely due to the unshakable nature of it, and because, somewhere deep, deep inside his subconscious, he actually has a small modicum of decency left, and because he manages to feel empathy. He's a coward and a bastard, in both senses, and he'll do much to save himself from death. He lost himself after he lost Kailia, and being a reasonably self-aware guy, he knows this, and so while he is all these negative things, he can also be cynically charismatic: think unredeemed Flynn Rider, but with the capacity to torture children.

Bio: Caelum's young life was interesting, perhaps, but it certainly wasn't distinctive. His parents had the typical cool and collected relationship distinctive of Aspernori couples (aside from the Festival of Blood, once a year), and when he was sixteen he fell in with a street gang, Mars-based. The street gang, looked upon more with an annoyed affectionate eye than anything by the authorities, commited petty and small crimes that in no way harmed anybody. Caelum picked locks and beat up civilians, stole money and escaped holding cells, and just generally had a good time. Then he met Kailia, another member of the street gang. They fell in love, or at least in mutual like, and fell out of the street gang. And then Caelum discovered his Trait, and Kailia decided to go on the run with him.
They fell deeper in love, had a makeshift wedding, and a baby. About three months after the baby was born, he was captured at a small village near [insert Aspernori town here], and escaped. Once he'd escaped, he had no idea where to go to find Kailia. He searched high and low, all their old haunts and a few he thought seemed her style, but it always seemed like she was keeping at least five steps ahead of him. He'd find the tiniest traces of her in places: a shred of pink fabric, the remains of Kailia's specially designed fire pit, a clump of long blonde hair. Finally, he found her body. Caelum was devastated, but stayed sane in the knowledge his daughter might still be out there.
He kept running. He was captured a few more times, once by a mysterious vigilante, another by a mysterious organization. After the umpteenth escape in Aspernor, he decided to try his luck in Avaditas. And he managed for a good two years, until the government found him. He was to be executed by firing squad, but at the last minute was propositioned by the government to twist a young Trait Bearer's Trait away from her control.

Notable Relationships:
> Kailia Desoll-Devon, 28 at time of death
Kailia, Caelum would describe her later, was a firework. Newly fifteen when he met her, she fell to everything she did with a glittering passion and sense of finesse. Caelum loved her fiercely; she was his rock and anchor and the reason he was, for the most part, a good man. They were never officially married, but traded last names anyway, and for a time, although on the run, they were very much in love. After finding Kailia's body, he gave her a tear-filled burial, and soon lost himself to petty crime as he had before.
> Lynea Desoll, 17
Caelum loves and cherishes the memory of her very deeply, and lives for the day he will be able to see her again.
> Jade Wishter, 17
Hired by the Avaditan government to twist a young Compassion Bearer's Trait away from her control, he agreed with the promise he be spared his life. However, after only a couple of weeks, he realized he couldn't do it anymore. He knows that she fears him and loathes the very sight of him, and he's okay with that. It helps him with his own guilt.

Weapon of Choice: Sword, standard issue. He stole it off an Aspernori foot soldier during one of his great escapes.

Strengths: Caelum is an escape artist. He can maneuver his way out of any prison, escape any chokehold. The one exception is Avaditas's prisons, which are designed for the exact security that thwarts him every time. In addition, he's an adept thief and skilled liar.
Weaknesses: He's not quite sure what to do with emotion anymore. Much like his daughter, Kailia was his anchor and his light, and without her, he's become the scoundrel he always knew he could've been, crooked half smile and all.

Name: Selvyn [secret middle name]Wynne
Name Meaning: "Selvyn" means of the woods, “Wynne” means gifted, blessed.
Alias: Selvyn Palmer
Alias Meaning: Selvyn just figured Palmer was something generic enough to work as an alias.  xD
Age: 21
DOB: Nivalis 4th, 9974

Trait: Hate
Secondary Traits: Logic, Strength, Persistence, Envy
Tertiary Traits: Compassion, Cruelty, Retribution, Faith
Quaternary Traits: Restraint, Passion, Obsession, Sorrow
Quinary Traits:Narcissism, Joy, Imagination, Psychopathy, Greed, Yare
Balance: 55/45 (Aitrai/Syntrai) + 10 Net Points; 25% Positivity
Powers: Selvyn can use his Trait to manipulate, create, or coerce emotions in another person.  He's a fairly standard Hate Bearer, not having any great skill to earn him a title, for example.  But his scores are high enough in every category to mean he doesn't have any overly large weaknesses.

Appearance: Very similar looking in comparison to Cei, he stands at 5'11" with a strong, lean body, broad shoulders and fit arms. He has a tapering face with a short, wide forehead, an angular jaw and a round chin. Deep set, dark hazel eyes overshadowed by angular brows. Some light freckles across his nose and cheeks; a short, triangular nose with a round tip; small, thin ears that stick out a bit; thick, spiky blond hair neatly cut with some fringe; pale, warm skin; long, knobby fingers; pretty lips. He looks very tired, but also like he would punch you in the face if your conversation with him had gone south enough that civility became optional.

He gets cold easily and tends to layer with sweaters or long sleeved shirts underneath his Inquisitor uniform. Always wearing socks, usually with boots.

Personality:
Efficient, dedicated, and determined, there's nothing Selvyn loves more than completing a task well. Order, practicality, and straightforward is how he likes things, and he has a drive to improve systems that he believes are ineffective or inefficient.   While ambitious, he is cautious enough to stray away from overly dramatic or frilly plans. He dislikes wild cards and takes pains to eliminate the variables in his surroundings that can't be controlled or planned for.  He enjoys fun and having a good time like everyone else, but his job comes first.

Selvyn's been raised to be courteous and decent, and of his own volition he's taught himself to be sweet as well.  He started out rough edges and combative, a know-it-all type that had no qualms about ending the argument with a fist fight -- till that didn't go over well with his mother.  She taught him manners, then told him not to be an asshole.  He figured that last one out on his own, for the most part.

Deep down he's something of a guardian or protector type, and when noticing loved ones are in distress, tries to fix their problems for them. He respects grit and spirit, and enjoys being yelled down, if only because it means the other person has guts.  He's also prone to challenging and taunting others, if only to watch them have to stretch themselves to keep up with him. Tactile and teasing, he enjoys tickling, brawling, and snuggling loved ones to show his affection.
Personality Type: ESTJ

Bio:
The prosperous, intelligent, and practical Selvyn Palmer was a person not well-suited to the low income, drear reality of his environment. Born to Pawl and Awydd Wynne, his chances of getting a job beyond garbage man or pitiful shopkeeper were next to null. His parents, while intelligent, skilled, and well-meaning in their own rights, could not satisfy his desires for more. Balancing schooling with ambition, Selvyn's constant attempts to rise above his poverty were back-handed and pushed down by socioeconomic glass ceilings. He simply could not become what he wanted. Watching the wealthy and accomplished peruse so effortlessly through their lives, he soon came to believe the flaw was inherent in himself. A Hate Trait was born in the wealth of his self-loathing.

Joining the Inquisitors at 18, Selvyn had his job kept local, and soon he grew peeved at the lack of game. He worked as hard and as often as he could, taking up whatever task he could acquire. In between jobs he found himself exhausted, snappish, annoyed. The situation arisen at his home helped nothing: his previously boisterous and mischievous sister had returned from what was supposed to be the greatest opportunity of her life in a deep depression and without anything to show for it. He had been envious of the recognition she'd been given, attentively listening for any news of her success or failure, hoping to claw his way up with her. Now she was lethargic, almost dumb with apathy and despair. Not even mentions of all the plots he'd been mulling over or the fun they could have together would arouse her. The companion he'd had in her had somehow died, and it peeved and scared him more than he knew how to deal with. His younger brother was slipping behind his studies, failing despite the promise of his intellect and obvious usefulness. His pretty mother was wringing herself raw trying to push his sister into a better state of mind while trying to advance the fortunes of her other children, and his hard-working father kept silently to his work, often taking extra shifts to avoid seeing his failed spawn.

When he'd heard his sister got herself badly hurt in a factory accident, he dropped everything to come to her aid. And it was in his sister that he witnessed a Perpetuity Trait at work. Furious and hurt that she'd hide such a secret from him, he dragged her off, intending to sell her off to the Inquisitors. To his annoyance (and later, relief) she fought him off and escaped.

His family's rejection of him kept him cloistered to his work, and all his focus funneled into it. It has become his refuge and soon after a location switch was going to take him elsewhere, he changed his last name to Palmer.

Notable Relationships:
- Cei Wynne | younger sister | As children they worked well together and got along with ease. There was a playful dynamic between the two that made it easy for them to mull in each other's company. Cei tended to be his subordinate in their games or schemes, pulling off the dirty work while Selvyn created their plans. Their relationship was deep and meaningful, something like soulmates.  He deeply regrets what he did and assumes that some way or somehow, Cei has died because of his mistakes. This only furthers his self-hatred.
- Glyn Wynne | younger brother | He had tended to be snappy and over invested in Glyn, trying to mold him into a kind of hypothetical prodigy of his, rather than the underachieving worker of the masses he suspected he would become. He knew Glyn wasn't incompetent, he just wished his brother would grow up, show some backbone, and make something of himself. Since the incident, Glyn is openly hateful towards his older brother and is rude to him at every opportunity.
- Awydd Wynne | mother | Their initially normal mother-son relationship grew complicated and testy over strong differences in opinion over politics.  This was not helped by his decision to try and sell his own sister. She fears and hates him now, and while she is polite to him in regards to his status as an Inquisitor, the love she once held for him is now burdened by grief and shame of him and what he's become.
- Pawl Wynne | father | The man who had spent so much time investing in his education and ambitions now treats him more like a stranger, albeit one that used to (and occasionally still does) live in his house.
- Loki Happenson | fellow Inquisitor | Their meetings thus far have been brief but Mr. Happenson seems set upon encountering him as much as possible.  Be it to try and convince Selvyn, once again, to work with him, or merely so he can perfect his flirting, Selvyn is not sure.

Weapon of Choice: A  pistol as a precaution, and a knife he keeps in his boot lest the first precaution fail.
Strengths: Good in a crisis, works for the good of the team, dedicated and sturdy.  Proficient at prioritizing issues and problem-solving, a good team player.  Ambitious but not self-absorbed.  Pleasant, easy to be around.  Kind.
Weaknesses: Not the most imaginative, scrapped long term strategy in favor of short-term tactics.  Not a true leader.  Good for following orders and problem solving but doesn't have an ideal or dream big enough to be able to follow through with his goal practically.  Stubborn.  Easily turned off by overly abrasive personalities, may decide to pursue them as something of a rival or "obstacle" rather than objectively recognize whether or not they're worth his time.

Fun Facts:
- Selvyn's Hate scores are:
Strength: 7
Control: 5
Precision: 7
Reach: 6
