End of Year News (December 2017)

Thu Dec 28, 2017 3:57 am by Adrian

(It's been one year since I made a news thread, oops)

Merry Christmas/Festivus/whatever holiday you do or do not celebrate!

2017 was a pretty busy year IRL for most of us - according to forum statistics, our busiest month was in June with 1671 total posts, meaning our post rate has been a little …

Forum Bug

Wed Dec 28, 2016 3:18 am by Adrian

Hi all,

We're aware of a peculiar forum glitch that's causing some subforums to be locked.

Due to the lateness at this time, it might be a while before the glitch can be remedied, because despite my best efforts and as far as I can tell, everything seems to be working fine admin-side. It may have …

Guide to avoid spamming

Post by Sal on Mon Sep 29, 2014 4:50 pm

Spamming can range from one word posts to double+ posting. I'm sure all of us have done it some point whether we meant to or not, but with this guide you can tried to avoid spamming on the forum!

Types of Spamming:
There are two basic types of spamming that I've seen on the forum.
1. One/Two Word Spam
2. Double+ Posting

How to avoid these:
1. One/Two Word Spamming:
*In RP, try to find other words to describe how your character feels in the situation. Instead of writing, 'I smile', try to be more descriptive on how your character feels and why they actually smiled in the first place.
*OOC, usually the more common form of one/two word spamming. Try to refrain from writing short responses like (ok), (alright), (lol), etc. without any RP post. Try to at least add more words about that topic or even add more to the discussion.
*Off Topic section, like above try to add more to the discussion. It's the easiest way to refrain from spamming.

2. Double+ Posting
*In RP/OCC/Off Topic, this is a huge issue that I see commonly and honestly there is one simple solution to keeping away from this kind of spam: the Edit Post button. The Edit Post button is located above your post on the right side between four other buttons. It's not very hard to miss and it stays there until the thread is locked. All you need to do is click on it, edit in whatever you say, and send the message again.
*Bumping, bumping and double posting is completely different. Bumping is used to bump up several day old threads (such as RPGs), but please do not bump every few hours or so. This is considering spamming at that point.

Hope this helped! Let's try to keep our forum spam free! c:

Nice guide, Lyss! I like how you added the point about bumping a thread into your guide!

I may fall
But not like this: it won’t be by your hand.
Realizing a year late I haven't given credit to Lady Sen for the amazing avi! <3
