(It's been one year since I made a news thread, oops)

Merry Christmas/Festivus/whatever holiday you do or do not celebrate!

2017 was a pretty busy year IRL for most of us - according to forum statistics, our busiest month was in June with 1671 total posts, meaning our post rate has been a little …

Forum Bug

Hi all,

We're aware of a peculiar forum glitch that's causing some subforums to be locked.

Due to the lateness at this time, it might be a while before the glitch can be remedied, because despite my best efforts and as far as I can tell, everything seems to be working fine admin-side. It may have …

Annie repeated herself for Gretchen.
"I broke up with Fiachra."

Slade rubbed his chin in thought, trying to process the information. It seemed like his mind was somewhere else.
"Wow."

"Uhhh," Gretchen locked her phone, "Is it a bad idea to ask why?"

~Riada~

"You're right I haven't," I agreed with another chuckle, only hesitating for a second before just going for it, "Doubt he could do anything to make me like you any less, though."

~Adair~

I hummed in agreement, taking another step forward as well as I gave his hand a gentle squeeze, "They are, aren't they."

- Lucille -

"Wait, you broke up with him? Are you okay?" But for someone who just broke up with her boyfriend, Annie is straight-faced. Granted, this is Annie we're talking about, so she wouldn't break it to us if she was hurting. Something still seems weird, though.

"Hopefully not. Ya might want to skip family dinners, though!"

~~~~~~~
Now standing with almost no free room between them, Fiachra wondered what he should do next. This felt like a good time to kiss, but he wasn't really sure. He didn't want to put Adair in an uncomfortable position just because he was feeling couragous.
Annie stared at the floor, as was usual when she was trying to downplay her emotions.
"I'm a little upset. I just didn't think we were going to work out."
The gravity of the situation finally seemed to sink in for Slade.
"Is there anything we can do to make it better?"
The blonde shrugged again.
"It's nice to have the four of us together again."
Gretchen frowned, completely unsure of how to feel. On one hand, Annie was probably in an immense amount of pain after ending the most serious and long-lasting relationship she had ever been in, and she would be doing a diservice to her friend for not mourning with her. On the other hand, the brunette was secretly regretting ever giving her the idea of dating Fiachra, as it had felt like Annie had abandoned herself, Slade, and Lucille, and some selfish part of her rejoiced slightly at the news.
"I'm sorry to hear that. But I'm really glad to have you back." was the response she settled on.
~Riada~
"Aww no those sound like fun," I teased him again with a laugh.
~Adair~
I could tell he was hesitating and leaned in slightly, wanting to let him know it was ok, but still too nervous to make the first move myself.
"The four of us..." Slade seemed to linger on those words for a while.
He finally seemed to snap out of his trance for a moment, a faint smile appearing on his face.
"I'm proud of you, Annie. It takes a lot of bravery to do something like that."
Annie nodded in acknowledgement. "Thank you. It's not the worst thing that's happened to me."
"We've all come back from something bad..." Slade began, in a more subdued tone of voice. "When your brother died defending that gate... Gretchen and I lost our fathers on the same day as each other, and then there's Lucille's brother, of course." He stopped talking, seemingly unable to complete his thoughts.
Annie raised an eyebrow as he spoke.
Gate?
Once he finished, she nodded once in understanding. "We've just gotta keep moving forward. One step at a time."
"They can be!"
Lachtna glanced around, noticing Annie with her normal group. I guess the band got back together, he thought.
~~~~~~~

Fiachra nodded a little to himself, trying to keep the courage up when he realized what Adair was doing. He licked his lips nervously, then also leaned in, probably a little too slowly.

~~~~~~~
Gretchen titled her head ever so slightly at Slade, unsure of where that profound statement came from. Deciding to worry about it later, she nodded to her cousin.
"Here, here, Slade."
