Hi all,

We're aware of a peculiar forum glitch that's causing some subforums to be locked.

Due to the lateness at this time, it might be a while before the glitch can be remedied, because despite my best efforts and as far as I can tell, everything seems to be working fine admin-side. It may have …

Name: Alexandra 'Alex' Varninas

Age (and Birthday): She looks 17, except actually she's more like 187. Her birthday is January 8th, 1831.

Appearance:

Biography (In a Spoiler due to length):
Alex Varninas was born as Alexandra Hughes, a little girl that was the pride and joy Desmond and Mary Hughes's life. She would grow up to be a fine young lady, and her twin brothers, James and Justin, would grow up to be fine young men that would take over Desmond's blacksmithing shop in New York.

Except Alexandra might have had other ideas. Instead of homemaking and sewing, she wanted to pursue science and athletics. The incoming wave of feminism resonated strongly with her, and she became vocal in her ideas -- which her father, of course, did not agree with. The louder she became, the louder he became. And the louder he became . . . the more abusive he eventually became. Alexandra was, after all, a woman, and she did, after all, need to learn where her true place was. Eventually, Alexandra did learn her place. Her place was away from her father.

Alexandra ran away. She ran far away from New York and off to the west, where uninhabited terrain offered plenty of places to hide. But she never learned to properly survive on her own. Two weeks after her runaway, she was hanging on by a thread when she saw a mythical monster came after her, only to be saved by  a boy with sea-green eyes wielding a bronze sword. The boy was shocked to find that she could see him, and pulled her along with him as he ran.

They were eventually cornered. He was too hurt, and she was too weak, so they both should have died that night. They would have died, had not the Hunters of Artemis stepped in at the last minute and save her.

As they spoke, the boy told them that his name was Wesley, and he was a son of Poseidon, the Sea God. As for Alex, the Hunters didn't quite know why a mere mortal possessed the Sight. Perhaps, they theorized, it was because she was meant to become one of them. A Hunter.

They extended the invitation to Alexandra to join them . . . and she refused. What she told them was that she was in debt to Wesley, since he'd saved her life. What she didn't say was that she wasn't fond of the idea of swearing off men, and she had a growing crush on this mysterious boy with sea-green eyes. The Hunters, while disapproving of her decision, recognized they had no control over her decision, and left the two of them to theirselves.

Together, Alexandra and Wesley lived on their own, becoming closer as they spent time together. While Wesley had heard of a camp in New York, he didn't want to simply abandon Alexandra. They traveled to the midwest, and tried to make a place for themselves there as they became closer and more intimate with one another. Alexandra was reluctant to call her feelings for Wesley love, since she was still so young. But as she kissed him, she couldn't imagine any other word to describe what she was feeling.

Nowadays, the hardened Alex Varninas could imagine other words to describe what her younger self was feeling. Infatuation. Foolishness. Anything but 'love.'

Because the more time young Alexandra spent with Wesley, the more she could also see that he was bitter. That bitterness festered in Wesley. To this day, she doesn't know if he decided his allegiance somewhere along the way, or if he'd been this way all along, but in time, Wesley revealed another reason why he wasn't set on going to Camp Half-Blood: because he wanted to resurrect the Titan Lord Kronos.

Alexandra didn't understand how serious this was for a while. Or maybe she did; she just wanted to believe Wesley was the boy she'd met years ago. But whatever the case, she didn't take action against him until it was nearly too late. They got caught up in a brutal fight, and Wesley, in his rage, nearly killed Alexandra when the Hunters intervened for the second time in Alexandra's life. In the ensuing scuffle, she managed to get close to Wesley . . . and kill him.

Broken in ways she hadn't been before, Alexandra finally understood the two things the Hunters had been telling her all along. The first was that maybe they had the right idea in swearing off men. The second was that, perhaps, it was indeed her destiny to become a Hunter.

Eager to start over, Alexandra took the oath, swearing off men, and reimagined herself as Alex Varninas. With all ties to her old life severed, Alex eagerly took up her new one, and became far more proficient in archery than she ever had in housework. Slowly, she carved out a name for herself, and proved herself worthy of Artemis's blessing as a Hunter. Everything worked out for her.

Except for one small tidbit. Until very recently, Alex had thought of herself as a mere mortal, and had assumed that she had the Sight simply because she was supposed to become a Hunter. That was untrue. One day, very recently, Alex was training with a fellow Hunter when she suddenly unlocked new abilities. Shortly after, she looked up and witnessed a lightning bolt hanging over her head.

Alex was a daughter of Zeus.

This discovery didn't go over with her well. To this day, she wonders why Zeus never claimed her until now, and why her mother had never told her the truth about her parentage. She has a lot of questions -- and not enough answers.

Personality: Alex is rather serious and focused. She's down to earth and despises a lot of things that a regular teenage girl would be fond of, such as men, cute clothes, men, dresses, men, pastel colors, men, makeup, and did I say men? Due to both her position and her bad experiences with Wesley and now both of her fathers, she hates them so much that she's basically misandrist. To those she may doesn't rationally or irrationally hate, however, she is profoundly loyal, and there's not a better person to have watching your back. Alex has a strong duty to Artemis and to her fellow Hunters, and she will fulfill it.

Parent: Zeus, but her primary affiliation is with the Hunters of Artemis

Abilities:

Aerokinesis - While she's still coming into her own on this one, she's getting better at this, and can send powerful gusts of wind at her opponents.

Lightning - In addition to her aerokinesis, she's learning how to control lightning and electricity, which is coming to her less easily than aerokinesis.

Archery - Over the course of nearly two centuries, she's mastered the trade.

Weapon: A silver bow and arrow.

Strengths: This girl has pretty deadly aim. She's refined her archery so that she never misses. Quite loyal to her fellow Hunters and to other female demigods. She has nearly two centurys' worth of experience, and can be considered a good leader.

Weaknesses: It's no secret that she hates men. She has Daddy issues. Living over two centuries has given her a deadly case of pride and another nasty case of arrogance, which she may or may not hide as well as her hatred of men. The godly abilities granted to her by virtue of being Zeus's daughter aren't always exactly controllable. She's still struggling to adjust to modern times.

Would you like to be Counselor?: You mean Lieutenant? Yes please. ^.^

Other:

- Back by popular demand
- She has trace elements of Juliana Smythe's backstory, a different Lieutenant character of Writing's.
- The streaks in her hair are silver, not pink. She got them to celebrate after a successful mission.

Re: Camp Half-Blood App Thread

Post by Adrian on Fri Jan 05, 2018 12:53 am

Here's form number 1. I'll be making my other forms periodically.

He's like Canadian Adrian. Canadrian.:
Name: Roland Masterson
Age (and Birthday): 18 (January 25th)
Appearance:
Biography:
Spoiler:
Roland comes from a small foster family in Montreal, Quebec. His life was quiet and pleasant enough but, as an orphan, there was always the gnawing sensation that his life was lacking something - answers. So, in the typical "adopted-kid-wanting-to-find-his-true-family" fashion, Roland (at the age of 15) bravely set out into the streets of Montreal to find his mother...

...and was almost killed by a monster.

It came from the sewer (it sounds like a cliche, but yes, it did). He didn't have time to describe it - he only knew that it had long claws, an awful roar, and was definitely making an attempt on his young life. It sent him scurrying through the streets and alleyways, and soon enough the young man realized he was completely lost. Roland figured he was on the south side of the city, but alas, he did not quite know where. He sat down against a wall and began to look at the dusky sky, as it slowly grew towards night... and then a hand reached down to touch his shoulder.

Roland flinched, as one would expect. He jumped up quickly, causing the strange man to fall over onto his rump. Confused by the sudden lack of balance, Roland found himself extending a hand to the fallen man, who quickly took it and rose shakily to his feet.

"Oh," the man said. "You're not who I expected to see."

Roland brushed his shoulder. "Oh? Who were you expecting?"

The man didn't answer, but looked at Roland inquisitively. "You... people like you shouldn't be out, especially this late. It's dangerous."

Roland was a bit offended. "This city isn't that dangerous. And I'm 15, I'm not a kid."

The man shook his head. "No, that's not what I... you don't know what you are, do you?"

It took a bit of convincing, and Roland was still unsure, but the man - who revealed himself to be a satyr - told Roland that one of his parents (either mother or father) was in fact a god. No, not God. A Greek god. And "from the smell," according to the satyr, it might have been an Olympian. Roland was somewhat sure that this man was on drugs, but a low growl from behind him said otherwise. According to the "satyr," kids like Roland were seen as dinner to... whatever the hell was chasing him. And there was only one place that he would be safe - which was, thankfully, only a 10 hour train ride from Montreal. After a narrow escape from the monster, both the satyr and newly-realized demigod took an Amtrak ride all the way to New York City, where they braved the Big Apple to arrive at Camp Half-Blood. A couple days later, Roland was claimed by his father - Hermes, god of travelers, messages, and mischief (oddly enough). Despite his newfound life, Roland has still been robbed of the opportunity to locate his long-lost mother. He doesn't even have any leads on her whereabouts or who she even is - well, maybe just one lead...

Personality: Roland is a bit impulsive. Wait, no, very impulsive. Whenever he wants something, he dives right in with little forethought. Sometimes it works and... well, you can imagine the rest of the time. He can be a bit fidgety at times, but usually he means well. He's not like some of his brothers and sisters that cause trouble around the camp. Instead, he seeks to relieve his energy through sports - namely, track and field. He also has a habit of accidentally blabbing to other people about things that they might not need to know. It just slips his mind - he doesn't mean to.

Parent: Hermes

Ability:
Unyielding Stamina: Roland is a powerhouse when it comes to physical energy. He thought it was just ADHD (which explains a lot of demigod abilities), but he hasn't quite found a limit to his stamina. He can't really "stop." It doesn't automatically give him superhuman abilities, but it definitely gives him an edge when it comes to training - and it has already.

Supernatural Mailing: This is something a Hermes camper taught Roland before she went off to college. It takes a lot of practice, and doesn't always work, but there is a way for some Hermes children to send a physical letter to someone else just by letting it fly through the air. There are a couple rules:
DA RULEZ:
- You have to know where the person is, or at least have a good idea. Being familiar with the person makes this work even better.
- As long as nothing is obstructing it, or might destroy it, the letter can go most anywhere. But weather patterns and other conditions are unpredictable, so expect reliability to waver for long-distance letters.
- The letter must be physical, in an envelope with the person's name on it, and it must not be enchanted. It can have anything else in it that will fit (money, receipts, etc.)
- Depending on the effort required for the letter to travel all the way to its target, it can be a little strenuous and tiring, even for someone with unyielding stamina.
- It will be very difficult, sometimes even impossible, for the letter to traverse other realms (the Underworld, Olympus, etc.), so keep that in mind.
- You can send letters written by other people as long as the person who wrote it gives express permission, and you know the general location of where that person is. The effectiveness of travel will be diminished, however.
- Practice makes perfect.
- No packages. Someone tried it once and now there's a strict rule among some Hermes campers about sending letters near closed windows.

Weapon (if any): Roland opts for a nice, reliable steel sword. Nothing fancy.

Strengths: Roland means well. He tries to be nice and helpful to anyone he sees, especially newer campers. It's hard for him to really hold a grudge unless someone does something really personal to him. He doesn't really like to steal either (though the urge is DEFINITELY there), and is quite honest when you speak to him.

Weaknesses: Roland has a sort of "cabin fever" when it comes to being in the camp. He hasn't left for three years - his foster family doesn't even know where he went. There's a lot in his life that he feels is "incomplete" and "loose-ended." He doesn't have a lot of closure. As a result, he may become silent or agitated if you pry too much about his life, which leaves Roland a very closed book in that regard.

Would you like to be Counselor?: I mean, I can if no one else wants to be.
Other:
- He is French, English, Italian, and a bit of a Jew (ethnically, I mean.)
- He has some elements of Adrian (from the CHB clan), but with a fresher twist.
- His power is something I totally made up on the spot. If there's a problem with it or you just don't like it, let me know!

Accepted! I really like the originality on the second power. As long as the first power doesn't get super out of hand I think it's fine. Thanks for joining!!

"Yer a demigod, Maverick." - His dad, probably.:
Name: Maverick Rothschild
Age (and Birthday): 19 (October 17th)
Appearance:
Ignore the text I... have no idea why that's there. This is really the best picture I could find for his face. Maverick has quite a few tattoos on his arms and legs, as well as some gauges and a nose piercing.
He's very  e d g y looking. He doesn't wear white often. He usually goes for darker colors.

Biography: Maverick is no stranger to the occult... or, at the very least, he wasn't too surprised when he found out who his mother was. His father, a Romani-German, has a family history dealing with some not-quite-natural occurrences, including rumors of witchcraft, psychic episodes, and possibly more. But Maverick never really had to deal with that in his pre-Camp life. He just went to school in boring Reno, NV, biding his time and studying until he was ready to go off to college and major in something - maybe English or Psychology, he didn't know yet. Maverick was pretty aimless, along with his friends, up until the point of midterms during his sophomore year of high school.

He was getting ready to take his Biology mid-term and had just sat down when the door flew open. Surprised, he came face-to-face with his father, who pulled him out of the class and out the school doors into the morning sun. Despite Maverick's protests, his father refused to speak until they arrived at the airport. He handed Maverick a one-way ticket - to New York.

It was at this point Maverick realized how wild his father really looked. His forehead was beaded with sweat, pupils dilated like crazy, and he still had his PJ's on. His father explained that his mother, once thought previously deceased, was not at all who Maverick thought she was, and that in order to be "safe" he needed to go to Long Island, to some random strawberry patch. Despite his initial reaction that his father had officially gone off the deep end, something in Maverick's soul stirred - some sort of ancient intuition. Perhaps it was the family gift. At any rate, Maverick found himself following along with his father's directions, though unsure as to why he was now suddenly "not safe."

At any rate, Maverick made it to New York safely and promptly arrived at the "strawberry patch" - which he quickly realized was the complete and exact opposite of an actual strawberry patch. Having been claimed by Hecate after a few days, Maverick quickly settled into his new life and took stride in his newfound family, friends, and abilities. Like Roland, he's been there for three years and hasn't been back home since. Maverick hasn't even heard from his father, which worries him.

Personality: Maverick is, clearly, an "alternative" person. He doesn't really care for mainstream culture, for the most part, but it doesn't necessarily stop him from getting along with other people. He can be mischievous, but not to an annoying/Hermes level. He's just trying to make the best of his current situation, given that he technically should be in college by now, so he tries to see the best in everything. But sometimes it can be hard.

Parent: Hecate

Ability: Mist Manipulation & Arcane Magic. For the second one, Maverick has figured out how to draw glowing "threads" of magical energy in the air using his fingers that, when touched or disturbed, create a blast against the entity or object that has disturbed them. They're not runes, though. His handwriting is too terrible for runes. The threads disappear with a tiny "sonic boom" (like a whip crack) if Maverick moves too far away from them (three meters). They also cannot stay active for too long - only 1 second - so Maverick has to time them well. Which he can. For the most part.

Weapon (if any): A Celestial bronze claymore.

Strengths: Given his... strange family history, magic seems to come rather easy to Maverick. He's a quick learner in the first place, but he's found himself quite skilled in his abilities. He's also taken a liking to his claymore - a bulky, weighted sword, it can be quite effective in combat, and he's figured out how to balance offense and defense through trial and error.

Weaknesses: Maverick thinks he might be depressed. He's not formally diagnosed, but for the past three years there's been a gnawing darkness within him that's resulted from a lack of contact with his father, as well as his old friends and the fact that his former life was cut off so quickly, abruptly, and with little consent from him. Ever since he learned of the Fates, Maverick has felt growing futility and hopelessness, and he fears that the Camp he's come to appreciate so much will eventually be his own little Field of Asphodel.

As a result of his possible depression, Maverick sometimes finds it hard to be really motivated, and there have been instances where he dissociates a little bit during conversations. He fears actually talking to someone about this, though. He's a bit prideful, but he's also scared that his concerns won't be taken seriously since there's so many others that are in the same situation as this.

Would you like to be Counselor?: He can apply, if that's fine. He doesn't have to be Counselor, though.

Other:
- He is German, Irish, Welsh, and Romani
- I might use another FC if I end up finding one that I like better. It's really hard to find one that matches what I have in my head, since he looks a lot different than other "vanilla" characters I've made in the past. Maybe I'll have to use GIMP :/

Re: Camp Half-Blood App Thread

The "ð" is silent. (No, not really.):
Name: Hanna Sigurðsdottir (ð in Icelandic is pronounced with a voiced "th," as in "that")

Age (and Birthday): She looks 17, but that was the age she was when she became a Hunter back in 1983. So she's really 52 (if this takes place in 2018). Not totally impressive for a Hunter, but eh.

Appearance:
Spoiler:
Hanna opts for denim or cropped bolero jackets - think of the 1980's fashion, but not the stereotypical "aerobics class" outfits. She finds track suits to be bothersome and distracting. Her clothes are tubular, but also practical.

Biography: Hanna was born to a small family in Reykjavik in 1966. Her father, a mechanic, had cheated on his wife when Hanna was only six years old, and as a result she has grown to intensely resent her last name. From 1972 onward, it was just her, her older brother, and her mother; when she was old enough, Hanna took a part-time job at the grocer to help pay bills. Everything was fine.

Until she turned 16.

Hanna never really had an interest in dating, as her mother caught on quite early. She just never mentioned boys. Her mother had just thought she was trying to take things extra slow - or maybe she feared dating as a result of her father's infidelity. But in reality, Hanna was not interested in men. She was gay.

Because of her relationship with her mother, Hanna thought it would only be right to tell the person she loved the most about her orientation. Mom would love and accept her, right? Unfortunately, it was 1982, and even in Iceland people could still be quite conservative when it came to love. The fact that she may never see a grand-daughter, coupled with her husband's disloyalty, led Hanna's mother to believe that her family was officially beyond repair, and Hanna was thrust out into the world on her own.

Hanna was scared. She was scarred by this sudden lack of care and concern shown by her mother, and terrified of the fact that she would have to live on her own until God knew when. And she couldn't live with her brother up north, either - he died in the mountains of Akureyri while protecting a newlywed from the bitter cold. Hanna had no choice but to leave the island - she used the very last of her savings to fly out to Halifax; it would feel a bit like home, but she could have a fresh new start.

And part of her new start was a sort of "forced" asexuality. Hanna didn't trust her urges anymore. They got her in trouble before. Love was off the table now - it was a dead, fake concept now. She might be gay, but she would never fall in love with anyone regardless.

A few months later, the day after her 17th birthday, Artemis came to Hanna and offered her the opportunity to find a new life among her Hunters. There, she would fit in. Hanna gladly took the goddess's offer and joined her new family.

Personality: Hanna will get along with anyone (though men she has a bit of a harder time trusting). However, she doesn't like to get too chummy with anyone, not even her fellow Hunters. She doesn't want to slip and ruin all that she has built towards. Hanna can be very methodical and exact in the way she speaks and interacts with others.

Parent: Hunter of Artemis. Not a demigod.

Ability: None. She's really good with a bow and arrow though, as 35 years of practice will do.

Weapon (if any): A silver bow and arrows.

Strengths: First and foremost, Hanna is a very convicted woman. She understands her strengths and weaknesses, her morals and philosophy, and carefully follows them to a T. Hanna is also great at being independent, and works effectively by herself.

Weaknesses: Hanna finds it hard to be around other people. Even platonic relationships scare her. She's incredibly picky when it comes to choosing "friends," and her fear of rejection is multi-faceted and complex.

Would you like to be Counselor?: Nope!

Other:
- She is Icelandic, but also of Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish descent.
- I may have one more Hunter to bring over from the Central CHB. I'm still thinking and... plotting. If I do she won't appear till later so I'll just hold off on the form for now.

Luc Åström:
Name: Luc Åström

Age (and Birthday): 20, April 21st

Appearance:
✗ Luc stands at 6'4"
✗ His eyes are a deep blue color with steely flecks of grey

Biography: Luc was born in Gothenburg, Sweden to an archeologist, his father, and a geologist, his mother. The pair had found international acclaim for the discovery of various ancient cities across the reaches of Africa and South America. They were most well known for how well they worked in tandem with one another by analyzing each other's work through a new lens and perspective. To date, their most startling discovery was a Greek colony near the heart of Africa that many believed was utterly lost to human history. Often, they took their young son on their expeditions around the globe where he would actively participate in the works and worlds that his parents loved so dearly and filled him with nothing but the joy of curiosity and discovery.

It wasn't until the age of 10 that he discovered that this yearning curiosity could be dangerous and deadly as well. His father was killed when a roof caved in on him as he was excavating an underground system of cave cities in the Yucatan due to a long-forgotten trap laid by its former inhabitants. That was when Luc revealed his powers in a fit of rage that drew beast after beast to the small jungle encampment. The crews and their local guides did their best to defend against what was to them the most deadly jungle creatures that could have emerged from the forest but what was to Luc his worst nightmares made flesh.

The death of his father and the events that followed caused his mother to reveal the secrets that she had so dedicated her life to protecting. She didn't want to reveal that she was never Luc's real birth mother at all and that his mother was someone that so many people thought impossible. However, she did for his safety before they began to make their way to camp through passage from South America. They traveled solely on land as his mother believed that the air and the sea would be breeding grounds for the deadly creatures and monsters that her husband had told her about. It was a rather slow and arduous journey before they finally arriving at camp.

Personality: Luc is very much someone who can be completely happy with himself. He finds his interest to be varied enough that he doesn't really need to spend time with other people. That isn't to say that he is socially awkward or inept, he just much prefers his own company over that of anyone else. This often gives him the false aura of being too cold and aloof to those around him. He can be seen as unapproachable and too distant because of how he carries himself. More serious than the vast majority of campers it seems, he keeps his opinions and business to himself and is unusually careful and deliberate with his words. He does not prefer the spotlight. However, he is an exceptionally strong person who is able to weather almost anything. However, Luc, can be  warm and welcoming with those who first establish that behavior with him. Other than his icy demeanor, a significant portion of his personality is defined by how worldly he is and how much he likes to integrate different cultures into his daily life in various forms.

Parent (Can be Unclaimed or Mythical Creature): Athena

Ability (Two special abilities that are related to your parent):

✗ The Two Paths: This ability allows Luc to test out a strategy. He can carry out two actions, then select which becomes reality. For example, if he were playing Rock-Paper-Scissors, he could throw rock and paper at the same time. Should he settle on rock, then reality acts as if he never chose paper or scissors. If time is like a flowchart, he can test out both of its forked paths, then choose whichever route he likes the best.

✗ Telekinesis: Luc is able to use telekinetic abilities, often using a more imaginative method that incorporates his varied surroundings. In addition to this, he is able to use blasts of telekinetic energy and form other simple constructs as he still trains this side of his ability.

Weapon (if any): A celestial bronze rapier

Strengths: Luc is exceptionally focused and has a great perception of the world and people around him. He is also confident in himself and his abilities. His inner strength is one that is unyielding and near stalwart and has seen him through much of his life. Because his words and actions are so carefully chosen, he rarely runs the risk of offending someone or coming off in a certain way.

Weaknesses: However, Luc has a tendency to turn inward when he is uncomfortable with a situation, and he looks to himself for reprieve rather than others. Additionally, Luc can be exceedingly old fashioned and traditional and has a somewhat strict view of the world.

Would you like to be Counselor?: Nothing but respect for MY Counselor, Matt.

Other:
✗ His hobbies include horses, archeology, history, languages, opera, and sailing.
✗ He speaks Swedish, English, French, Spanish, and Maya although he is always trying to learn new languages.
✗ He also keeps his Swedish Vallhund, Tomte, with him at almost all times.
✗ His FC is Rhys Pickering.
✗ Credit to @Ace for his help on the powers

Re: Camp Half-Blood App Thread

Post by Adrian on Sun Jan 07, 2018 5:24 am

Here's my final form, for now!

Clayton Thornton - Three Years Later:
Name: Clayton Thornton

Age (and Birthday): 36, but he is mentally 18 since satyrs age differently from humans.

Appearance:

Biography: Clayton Thornton was born in the wilderness of Colorado to a young satyr/nymph couple with close ties to Camp Half-Blood. For years they had aided young demigods in their journey to refuge, but upon deciding to start a family they ventured out west so their child Clayton could experience nature first-hand. Growing up, Clayton became instilled with a deep respect for the wilderness, and trained with his parents for years to become like them - a "demigod guide."

At the age of 24, Clayton ventured out to Long Island to experience Camp Half-Blood first-hand, becoming acquainted with the refuge and the residents there. Having lived there for two years, he set out to help his first hero - a young, unclaimed boy in Western Missouri.

The two of them ventured back east towards New England, fighting off the occasional monster attack (including a monstrous wasp creature in the Appalachian Mountains), and finally arrived at Camp. Over the course of their journey, Clayton and the demigod formed a strong bond - one so strong that Clayton created his first empathy link with the boy, which had stood strong for years.

Three years ago in the spring, during a road trip back to camp, Clayton and the demigod were ambushed by a rampaging pack of monsters - normally, a monster attack would be expected, but the scale and nature of this rampage was unprecedented for Clayton. The satyr had blacked out, and when he came to, the demigod - his best friend for years - had vanished. Clayton knew he couldn't possibly be dead (he would feel it, after all), but he had no idea where he could have gone. Clayton has been searching for this demigod ever since, only coming back to Camp momentarily for the occasional new demigod and any updates he may have (which, sadly, are none).

Personality: Three years ago, Clayton was a very happy-go-lucky, energetic, and overall fun creature to be around. He loved and appreciated everyone (unless you threatened his plants), and was always down for an adventure (provided nobody was going to get killed).

The same cannot be said for today. Poor Clayton has become more stressed and agitated at the result of his AWOL friend, and is frustrated by the lack of clues he has found. He still cares for the other demigods, but his will for joy has been stopped. Instead, he's become a bit more overprotective than anything. He's also prone to walking off without any warning, overcome by a train of thought or a possible idea as to his friend's whereabouts. Occasionally he will grumble or mutter to himself.

Parent: None (Satyr)

Ability:
Pan Flute: A tool he's had for ages, Clayton has the ability to manipulate nature around him, causing plants to grow and move according to his will (and the notes he plays).
Empathy Link: He's also had the ability to form an empathy link with a living demigod - however, he can only have one. If he makes another link, the previous one is destroyed. He currently has a link with his best and oldest friend, though he does not know where the demigod is. Normally with empathy links, both parties are able to feel emotions that the other is experiencing, as well as just being in good sync with each other. But for a long time, Clayton hasn't been able to detect anything from his friend. Regardless, he still keeps it up.
Minor healing: It's not Apollo-level healing, but he can heal minor wounds (abrasions, cuts, etc.)

Weapon (if any): He's got a nice wooden cudgel that can do some damage. He doesn't use it for fighting often, though.

Strengths: Clayton sees himself as a sort of protector and even peacekeeper among the young demigods. His first job, to him, is to make sure they do not come to harm, even if it means risking his life. His parents (who died in a wildfire some years ago) had him vow to ensure that all demigods at camp, no matter their parent, grow to become successful in their dangerous and tumultuous life, and Clayton wants to see that wish through. He will do anything for camp.

Weaknesses: Clayton's biggest weakness has shown through in the past three years - he can't handle failure properly. He's never lost a demigod in this manner, and the fact that there seems to be nothing he can do just makes him feel more helpless and unsatisfactory. In addition, Clayton hates fighting - he's a pacifist first and foremost. While he will support his friends any way he can, he falters when it comes to raising a cudgel against enemies.

Everyone looks good! Yay, our first mythical creature!!

Kane, as long as you don't get too OP with the first power, which I hope you won't, then we're fine. I think it should be really interesting to work with though. I definitely should've kept it for myself and made my uh, 8th? character have it smh
