Forum Bug

Hi all,

We're aware of a peculiar forum glitch that's causing some subforums to be locked.

Due to the lateness at this time, it might be a while before the glitch can be remedied, because despite my best efforts and as far as I can tell, everything seems to be working fine admin-side. It may have …

*wipes sweat from brow* Whew, political correctness is a lot of hard work. But it has to be done.

ANYWAYS, we did it - we (almost) survived 2016 which, I think we can all agree, was pretty damn terrible in many ways.

Regardless, it was a good year on the forums - we've met some new faces, set out …

Slade nodded as he did as she instructed.
"Alright, I'm sorry Doctor."

He craned his neck upward slightly to look at the others again.
"What happened though? I've been worried sick ever since you left. I'm glad you're mostly okay, but that looks like a bad wound."

"The wound's not as bad as it looks. We-"
Annie coughed up more dust. She didn't have the heart or energy to recount the mission.

"...you two had better tell him what happened." She informed Gretchen and Lucille.

---

Sophia nodded, though she looked a bit uncomfortable.
"Yeah. I don't feel so good though."

The security guard seemed to finally take notice of Lord Evil and became even more irritated.

"You again?! This is the third time you've tried to pull this crazy stunt this month! I knew your antics would attract the feds one of these times!"

"How DARE you speak to LORD EVIL in such a manner!" The wannabe villain retaliated.

The bank teller came back to the desk and leaned over it to shout to the security guard.
"I saw the whole thing! That girl attacked Lord Evil first!"

---

"What's it look like in there, Shayla?" Eric asked as he watched the corner, waiting for the guards to appear.

- Lucille -

"I didn't really see what happened, so . . . " I poke two of my fingertips together. "I just remember being teleported by Lightbringer, and then seeing this huge monster."

- Kendall -

"Hey, now, wait a second," I say, bristling. "All she saw was a man with a gun. She saw a threat, and took action accordingly. Surely you understand."

Gretchen's heart missed a beat or two when she realized Lucille hadn't heard her apology. Or she had, and decided to ignore it. Either way, she wasn't about to try again, not with Slade trying to throw himself out of bed.

Choosing not to make eye contact with the girl that had been sitting next to her, Gretchen stood up from her chair, tossed her hair over her shoulder, and stood next to Slade's bed.

"Lay back down, Slade. I can tell you."

~Riada~

I pushed Adair into the hole in front of me, wanting to be between him and any bullets that started coming after us. I kept looking between the tunnel and the hallway we all just came out of, my eyes struggling to adjust as I kept looking for the bad guys, "And please tell me this won't lead to more guards."

Slade laid back down.

"I'm dying to know. I already hate myself for not being there."

---

The guard picked up Lord Evil's "death ray" and fired it into the air once, a small jet of water coming out of the tip.
"This bright, obviously plastic toy?"

Sophia, now starting to look very unwell, raised a finger in objection.
"In my defense, I'd like to say... oh no..."

She promptly leaned forward, opened her mouth widely and forcefully vomited up about thirty saliva-coated, plastic-wrapped complimentary mints.
"I feel a lot better now!" She declared, standing back up and returning to her usual upbeat expression. "What were we talking about again?"

The guard sighed, closing his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose whilst muttering something along the lines of "not being paid enough for this crap."
"Look... I'll let this whole thing slide if you three just leave."

Trying to decide how to word her answer, Gretchen grabbed her chair, and pulled it next to Slade's bed.

"Well..we were at the bank, and we intercepted the robbers. We evacuated the innocents inside."

She grinned for a moment, trying to be positive, "Annie was doing so great. She was really brave, and her powers were awesome!

"But then...things went wrong. A...monster of some kind just..showed up." The brunette took in a breath, "It was huge, and basically unstoppable. Your girl, Lightbringer, tried to help but..it got away."

Slade nodded as she went along, smiling when he heard about how they stopped the robbers and evacuated the innocents and how well Annie did.

Then Gretchen got to thew part about the monster, and his smile faded.

"Daikaiju, I'm assuming," he stated, breathing out a sigh. He took a minute to think over Gretchen's words, then thought of a question. "How did Lightbringer get there?"

"Is that what it's called?" Gretchen asked under her breath, before shaking her head, "I don't remember how. I was busy with Annie."

- Lucille -

"Teleportation," I say, trying to catch Gretchen's eye. I think she said something to me earlier, but I didn't catch it. "She teleported to Maine, and then back here."

The healer, in the meantime, takes her hand off of Slade's ribs. She must have had a superhuman ability, because she informs him that he's healed now. "But do take it easy for the next few days, just in case." She turns to Annie. "Do you want to show me where you got hurt?"

- Kendall -

She thought you were in danger, of course she may miss that it was a toy. My jaw hurts from the effort of restraining my tongue. But I won't get into trouble.

"We'll leave," I say.

Slade thanked the medic, then raised an eyebrow at Lucille's statement. "Your were taken all the way to Maine?"

Annie nodded and pointed to her left leg, which was laying flat across the bed, a blood-stained ribbon wrapped around the deep claw marks. She silently tuned in to the other three's conversation, hoping especially to pick up details as to what happened with Lucille.

---

Lord Evil stood up, the effects of Kendall's powers having apparently worn off.

The guard handed him back his water pistol.
"As for you... don't ever let me catch you back here again. Understand?"

The wannabe didn't seem too bothered by this.
"You'll always remember this as the day you almost thwarted LORD EVIL!" He declared, laughing hammily to top it off before marching out the doors of the bank.

Sophia's jaw nearly dropped when she saw the water pistol.
"Holy cow, he had a gun? I could have died!"
