Hi all,
We're aware of a peculiar forum glitch that's causing some subforums to be locked.
Due to the lateness at this time, it might be a while before the glitch can be remedied, because despite my best efforts and as far as I can tell, everything seems to be working fine admin-side. It may have …

I feel quite useless from the time the moment Lucille falls onward.
The man is there, he's hurting others and I wait for some kind of opening, something I can do, but it's all over immediately and helplessness wells up in my throat. I tentatively walk towards the fallen boy, though I know I can do nothing.

Finally, access to the security cameras right outside of the Bank is given to me. Footage pops up on my screen, allowing me a perfect view of a granite building with bold, unlit letters hanging over a set of sliding doors. Women with purses dangling over one shoulder and men checking their phones travel in and out of the building. Normal business.
Maybe we still have time, then. I can still --
That's when a large, moving-sized trucks swerve abruptly from the road and pull over to the curb, right in front of the bank. Another follows suit.
I don't think it's a coincidence that the security camera cuts out right then. Black and white static fills the window.
I swear, my hand hopping to my radio. That 'intercepted' message gave us the wrong time. "This is Sentinel. We've been mislead. The heist is starting now."

Re: Harwell's Institute for the Fairly Exceptional
Annie picked up her radio again in surprise.
"What?!" She almost shouted, completely incredulous.
She looked back at the Martial.
"How soon can we get to the bank?"
"Just leave me here!" Slade insisted. "I can find a way back to the hotel."
He looked at his cousin, who he was still leaning on for support.
"Gretchen, you need to go with them to stop the robbery. I'll be fine, okay?"

Re: Harwell's Institute for the Fairly Exceptional
Gretchen let out a scoff of offended disbelief. She could not believe that the words had come out of Slade's mouth. Her voice raised into a near-yell:
"Slade Willoughby Norman, you must've hit your head if you honestly think I'm going to leave you all alone on a New York street corner when you need medical attention!!"

Re: Harwell's Institute for the Fairly Exceptional
Annie couldn't help but overhear Slade and Gretchen.
So his middle name is Willoughby? I'll remember to write that down.
Slade hung his head in anger, not at directed at Gretchen, but just at the situation. He understood Gretchen's position, but he couldn't accept it.
Looking back up, he spoke again, a sense of firmness and a hint of anger in his voice.
"Who do you think is more important? Me, or Lucille? She's being carried to who-knows-where and you're worried because I'll have to limp a block and a half to a hotel?! I can't slow you down any more than I already have. There's a robbery going on, and our friend is in danger, you need to forget about me and get on with the mission. Again, to emphasize my point, I'll be fine."

Re: Harwell's Institute for the Fairly Exceptional
"The bank is the least of our problems. It's just money, it's probably insured anyway! Who gives a shit?" Gretchen was nearing the end of her patience. "You didn't hear because you were in agonizing pain, but Martial already called for backup. Professional backup. You really think she's gonna let us freshmen go up against..whatever the hell that was?
"Now I know you want to play the noble martyr, but you're not strong enough to do that yet. Besides, if Lucy were here, I'm pretty damn sure she'd be agreeing with me!"

Re: Harwell's Institute for the Fairly Exceptional
Slade sighed. He couldn't keep arguing with Gretchen. Her last point was especially potent.
She's right. Lucille would agree with her.
"Alright..." he conceded, groaning, "We'll play it your way. But please don't waste too much time trying to accommodate me."

Re: Harwell's Institute for the Fairly Exceptional
"I won't." Gretchen grumbled to pacify him, before patting him on the head as if to reward his choice. She turned to scan the group for the team leader.
"Miss Martial!" she called, waving to the hero, "Do you remember the way back to the hotel?"

Re: Harwell's Institute for the Fairly Exceptional
"The Bank's ten blocks down, so we'll get there soon if we run, but we can't afford to waste much time!" The Martial then spun around to face Gretchen, forcing herself to remain calm in the chaos. She pointed in the direction behind Gretchen, at the towering building. "It's right behind you. It's just a block away. You'd best hurry, Seamstress, because -- backup or no -- we're already two students down. We cannot lose a third."
Her hand flew to her radio, barking into it, "Sentinel! As soon as Seamstress gets Smokescreen to his room, can you be sure to look after him until the medical team arrives?"
Maxwell's voice was the softest and quietest she'd ever heard it as he said, "Of course."

Re: Harwell's Institute for the Fairly Exceptional
"We'd better get going then," Slade said, hoisting himself up a bit and wincing as he did so. He wrapped an arm around the back of Gretchen's head to let her support him, careful not to put too much weight on her. "You're okay, right?"
Annie wondered if Slade would be too heavy for Gretchen.
"Maybe I should help you carry him back."
---
Sophia kept trying to not think about stressful things. A thought came to her mind and she looked back at Loretta and Kendall excitedly.
"Hey guys, think we'll be made Gammas for this?"
