Forum Bug

Wed Dec 28, 2016 3:18 am by Sentinel

Hi all,

We're aware of a peculiar forum glitch that's causing some subforums to be locked.

Due to the lateness at this time, it might be a while before the glitch can be remedied, because despite my best efforts and as far as I can tell, everything seems to be working fine admin-side. It may have …

Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah/Other religious holidays!

*wipes sweat from brow* Whew, political correctness is a lot of hard work. But it has to be done.

ANYWAYS, we did it - we (almost) survived 2016 which, I think we can all agree, was pretty damn terrible in many ways.

Regardless, it was a good year on the forums - we've met some new faces, set out …

"No joke though! Your powers have loads of potential. You've basically got, like, combat tentacles, y'know?"
Slade glanced back at the airfield and saw one of the two figures waving at them.
"Hey, I think it's Lucille and Annie! Let's join them!"

---

While Lucille was waving, Annie noticed the wheelchair boy, whose name she'd deducted was Maxwell Grayson, was talking to the pilot nearby. She made no indication that she noticed him, but internally she felt somewhat bad about what she'd said to him a week ago in the Gauntlet. She still held that she was right, but he seemed friendly enough and she figured he must have just been in a bad mood.

---

After using alternative means of packing her belongings, Sophia hastily left her room and headed for the airfield. She was there in less than 5 minutes.
"Should I get on board too?" She asked the squad leader, not showing any signs of being intimated by his appearance in the least.

Gretchen flund herself unable to speak for a moment,f face twisted into stunned confusion.

"Combat tenticles?" she asked loudly, likely loud enough for Lucille and Annie to hear, "is that what they look like? Some sorta slimey, gross, squid thing?"

Annie only heard the last part of Gretchen's sentence and assumed the worst.

Slade defended himself as he led her closer.
"Not like that! I just mean they're long, and wiry, and you can grab things with them!"

The blonde girl breathed an internal sigh of relief.
Oh thank the lord, they're talking about ribbons.

"I would much rather you go with the Spiderman comparisons, if you don't mind."

Tossing her hair over her shoulder for emphasis, Gretchen smiled as she approached Annie and Lucille, "Good morning, gals!" she called with cheer.

- Maxwell -

"Combat tenticles?" Lucille looks at the cousins incredulously before shaking her head to herself, smiling. "Even to me, that sounds wrong."

I retain my eyes on her for a second. Then they flit back to Annie. That's the second time I've caught her looking at me since the Gauntlet.

- Kendall -

I follow Loretta, backpack in tow. I board the helicopter and start toward the back before Nightwatcher holds an arm out, barring my path.

"Go ahead," he says to Sophia, motioning for her to go ahead of me. He wants to talk to me in private? Uh-oh.

I glance back as the eyepatch man pulls Kendall off to the side. Is he in trouble? What'd he do? I decide to ignore it and continue with my luggage. I don't want to get in trouble too!

- Valerie -

After what I heard about the missions, the way over to the South Field feels like a death march.

I trudge up to the sleek black helicopter, trying to ignore the pounding of my heart. I'll be fine. I'll be fine, right?

I have to distract myself. To do so, I notice Summer Matthews. "You're the YouTube star, aren't you?"

"Close." I set down my suitcases, "I am a star, but not the YouTube kind." I wink.

I hadn't been recognized since the train ride. Most people would consider that a blessing. I like being recognized, though. I was apprehensive about it when I first got on board with this weird superhero school...I was originally supposed to be more discreet. Screw that! I deserve to be recognized after all of my hard work to get to this point.

"And who are you? I don't think I know you."

"Valerie," I say, and it takes me a second to realize that my tone sounds pleasant. I usually act at least somewhat bitchier when I first meet people. Guess I really am that frazzled, after hearing what I did. "The name's Valerie."

"Ah, Summer! Valerie!"

Coming toward us, looking sharp in a bright yellow suit, is Empathy. I should make a face of disgust at his apparel -- who wears yellow these days, anyway? -- but it actually suits him remarkably well, making his golden hair look even more golden.

"Good morning, ladies." Last I checked, Summer and I were both in Delta, which makes him the Head for both of us. He steps aside, gesturing up to the open door of the helicopter. "After you. I'm sure the others will be here shortly."

"That's a nice name," I smile and board the helicopter. This one was considerably nice, but i've been in better.

Miraculously, I manage to get all of my suitcases up. "Where should we put our things?" I look back and ask Empathy.
