(It's been one year since I made a news thread, oops)

Merry Christmas/Festivus/whatever holiday you do or do not celebrate!

2017 was a pretty busy year IRL for most of us - according to forum statistics, our busiest month was in June with 1671 total posts, meaning our post rate has been a little …

Forum Bug

Hi all,

We're aware of a peculiar forum glitch that's causing some subforums to be locked.

Due to the lateness at this time, it might be a while before the glitch can be remedied, because despite my best efforts and as far as I can tell, everything seems to be working fine admin-side. It may have …

~Adair~

I smiled back to Fiachra and we both walked over to them.

"We were just about to go pack our things," I said as we reached them, "If either of you need extra chargers or medical supplies we have plenty we can offer."

"Seriously Adair packed for like 5 people 'just in case'," Riada teased me, nudging my shoulder.

"Y'all sound like Domhnall." Lachtna commented.

"That's sweet! Thank you, we'll check for that."

~Vincent~

I could tell that Empathy was trying to be extra chill with me. My parents had gotten me a therapist when I found out I was adopted (even though I really didn't need one), and he spoke to me in a similar way Empathy was doing right now. What with the mission being so close to home, and now a teacher not even in my class rank wanted to talk to me... something was definitely wrong.

I nodded. "Sure. I hope I'm not in trouble or anything," I said, laughing. I was pretty confident I hadn't broken any rules yet.

Slade led the others to where Lucille was.
"Hey, Lucille!" He called out. "Looks like the we're not being split, huh?"

Annie followed shortly behind Slade.

---

Sophia, after hastily getting ready, slipped into the auditorium.
Shoot! She mentally chastised herself. I missed the announcement!

An idea surfaced into Gretchen's mind, and she decided to act on it. She walked away from her cousin, making an effort to move out of Lucille's field of vision. Putting her index finger up to her mouth as a silent request for Slade and Annie not to draw attention to herself, and once she was directly behind Lucille, she threw her arms around the other girl in a sudden hug.

"You can't avoid us~~!" Gretchen declared in a sing-song voice.

~ Loretta ~
I stand up from my seat and run back to my room. I want to make sure I pack everything i'll need, so it's better to get a head-start. That way, I can review my luggage a few times to check myself! I pull out my suitcase, then some drawers. Time to start! I fold clothing and pack it in.
~ Summer ~
I stay in the auditorium for a little while longer, rereading my name and the names of my teammates on the screen. It's kind of...strange. Why are we heading to New Madrid? That place doesn't strike me as somewhere that would be full of supervillains. And we're just investigating a missing person? That person must be important, jeez.

I leave back for my room, deciding that it would take me a long time to pack and I probably shouldn't show up late again today.

~Riada~

"Adair is always prepared for everything," I said with a chuckle.

"Which can be a good thing," he countered before smiling back at the Martins, "You know where to find us if you need anything, we should go start packing."

I nodded in agreement and waved at them before we walked off to our rooms, "See ya in a little bit."

"Bye, y'all!" Both Martins bid their farewells from their seats, deciding to wait for everyone to evacuate before joining the masses of students leaving.

- Lucille -

Someone tackles me from behind.

I start, instinctively going for a weapon, or something, or anything that'll help fight the attacker off, they couldn't possibly know about me and how did they get into Harwell's and --

"You can't avoid us~~!"

My heartbeat slows. Gretchen. It's just Gretchen. She's hugging me.

Finding the situation -- and how I got so scared -- funny all of a sudden, I laugh, smacking her arm playfully. "You suck."

Empathy smiled. "Oh, not at all! You've done nothing wrong. Now come. This will only take a few moments."

He led Vincent to his office. They went out of the auditorium, took an elevator to the top floor, and Empathy inserted a key into the first door on the right. He showed Vincent into the office, gesturing for him to have a seat.

"You're a smart kid, Vincent." Empathy walked behind his desk, and addressed the Gamma student from there. "I'm sure you've noticed that the mission you've been assigned to is your hometown, New Madrid."

Empathy took a deep breath. Here came the tricky part. "It's not a coincidence. The missing person in question is Noelle Christiansen, your sister. I thought it important that you were told first."

Gretchen gave Lucille one more squeeze after taking the hit before letting her go.

"I guess I do!" she decided, throwing her dark hair over her shoulder in faux offense.
